Fruit That Cures Diabetes
CAN FRUIT CURE DIABETES?
In order to guarantee their survival, mainstream medicine needs us to believe that only pharmaceuticals can cure diabetes. Although it is true that medicine such as tablets and insulin injections are very effective in controlling diabetes, there are other, more natural ways to see to your condition: fruit.
Diabetes is the fastest growing health epidemic in the USA and simply by looking at our diets it is no surprise. By including a number of common fruits in your diet you can not only prevent the onset of diabetes but reverse your diagnosis as well.
What Are The Fruit That Cures Diabetes?
Not many people are familiar with the exceptional dietary qualities of the humble guava. Not only are they a great source of vitamins A & C, potassium, folic acid and fiber but they are also an extremely strong antioxidant that can be of great benefit to your body.
Guavas have been proven to be very efficient at controlling your blood sugar levels – but only when consumed without their skins. The leaves, stem and fleshy fruit possess the ability to obstruct the absorption of carbs which will result in a decrease in sugar spikes and a subsequent lower risk of contracting insulin resistance. If you are already suffering from diabetes consuming guavas will go a long way towards strengthening your heart and kidneys to protect themselves against an onslaught of the disease.
Guava fruit is easily available (the US guava season is from September to December) but the leaves might be a bit trickier to come by. Fresh leaves are occasionally available at health stores but chances are you might find a dry bunch easier. The dry leaves are more potent anyway as they do not contain all the water that the fresh ones do.
To get the most benefit from your guavas you can either peel them and eat fresh or you can brew a tea with the leaves.
Guava Leaf Tea
You will need: 8oz of water and 1 oz of guava leaves, stainless steel or enamel pot
Crush the leaves and leave them to soak in the water for approximately half an hour.
Bring the water to a boil over a low heat and allow to simmer for about 40 minutes or until a ¼ of the water has evaporated.
Allow the tea to cool, strain and enjoy. The tea can be kept in the fridge for up to 3 days but it is recommended that you make a fresh batch daily.
A variety of stone fruit including peaches, plums, cherries and nectarines are believed to comprise a bio-active composite that can efficiently combat Type 2 diabetes. The reason why stone fruit are so adept at combatting diabetes lies in their ability to destroy the different modules of the illness.
The phenols contained in stone fruit have the ability to positively influence a variety of metabolic conditions that include high blood pressure, high blood sugar and elevated cholesterol. Your risk of contracting either diabetes or a heart disease is reduced significantly if your blood sugar and cholesterol level are under control and your blood pressure is stable.
The following compounds are high in antioxidants and even though they each have their own individual benefits, they are more potent when combined, like in stone fruit.
Catechins – these compounds promote a healthy bodyweight, stable sugar levels and a decreased risk of heart disease. They are also found in tea (red, black and green)
Anthocyanins – are responsible for the reddish colour you will see in some fruits and vegetables. They are also responsible for triggering an increase in insulin produced by the body.
Quercetin – also provided fruit and veg with a bright colour and decreases a sorbitol build-u in your eyes, nerves and kidneys.
Clorogenic Acids – Coffee and tomatoes contain these acids that have blood sugar regulating properties.
These compounds have the ability to stimulate insulin secretion, and to assist in protecting your cells against damage caused by the diabetes thus naturally both preventing and curing the illness.
Stone fruit high in phenols include:
A bad diet, coupled with insufficient sleep and a lack of exercise are the main causes of obesity, which in turn causes metabolic syndrome that leads to diabetes. There is no reason that you need to become incapacitated by diabetes. It is not only preventable but it can be cured as well by something as simple as a fruit salad!
